The city of Kuala Lumpur is known for a lot of things – the Petronas Twin Towers, Batu Caves, the bustling and crowded streets of Bukit Bintang, but what most people don’t know is that it is also a city plagued by crime. With the rising number of gangsters and criminals tainting the streets, the police force in Malaysia needs an overhaul. This brought about the birth of Polis Evo, a movie directed by Ghaz Abu Bakar.
Polis Evo does not only excite fans with an action-packed plot but it also has elements of humor that makes it unique. The storyline features two unlikely police officers, Sani (played by Zizan Razak) and Khai (played by Shaheizy Sam), who despite their differences must team up to battle a criminal underworld led by Tiger (played by Syamsul Yusof), a ruthless gang leader.
The film’s plot highlights some important issues such as police corruption, limited resources and lack of support from higher-ups in policing authorities.
